Iraqi Innovators is a social innovation organisation with a mission to increase women’s involvement in the tech sector, upskill job seekers, and support entrepreneurs to change the international narrative about Iraq.
We do this through content (our well-known blog www.iraqtech.io/blog), job-market focused trainings, and women-only spaces.
One of our goals is to change the narrative about Iraq as just a war-torn country. We do this through our blog (www.iraqtech.io/blog), which is the no.1 source of tech and startup news in the country, and our trainings, which focus on copywriting, marketing, and digital literacy.
About the Program Manager role
Our next program is launching in October 2022 and we’re looking for a Program Manager to join us and lead on its delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious, innovative start-up social enterprise and help shape our future.
We’re looking for someone who is a strong communicator in English and Arabic, extremely organised, a great problem solver and committed to our mission. Experience of working with young people and previous project management experience is a must. You should be able to effectively manage a project from A to Z with a ‘get shit done’ attitude.
Day-to-day Responsibilities
- Manage the selection process of programs from start to finish, including creating application forms, shortlisting applicants, conducting interviews, sending out acceptance/rejection emails, etc
- Student management: following up with applicants, students, and alumni and building relationships with each person
- You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the program(s) including coordination with trainers, stakeholders, business development and the marketing team
- This also includes facilitating online training sessions and supporting trainers
- You’ll keep track of KPIs to ensure that deliverables are being met. This might include no. of internships/jobs secured, no. of students graduated, etc.
- The role will involve stakeholder management including delivering a workshop, planning events for the cohort, or helping students think about their next steps after the program.
- You’ll be writing reports and tracking progress, including data collection and analysis.
- You’ll also manage trainers and keep track of deliverables when it comes to curriculum development and assessments

- Proven work experience as a Project or Program Manager. For example, the ability to create and manage a project plan, work to fixed deadlines, and manage a busy workload with competing priorities.
- Highly detail oriented
- Uses data to plan their next move
- Lots of empathy and great communication skills
- You don’t need a degree or a bunch of certificates for this role
